Here is part 2 of yesterday's Leibster Award blog. Today is answering The Nomad's questions, making my own questions and nominating others. So let's get going.
Now to The Nomads Questions*:
1.What's the scariest, as in uncomfortable, thing you've ever done? I'm not sure what the answer would be. I'm not a fan of public speaking but I do it all the time (small scale). I hate networking and chit-chatting when at conferences/conventions but I put my big girl panties on and suck it up. I've done "scary things" (such as facing phobias - heights, etc) but I've just done it. I'm not sure I can pin point one.
2.Do you know a celebrity or ever had a semi-personal experience with a celebrity? Ever play that game 6 degrees to Kevin Bacon? Where you name a actor and based on what movies they've been in and who they've worked with you can connect them to Kevin Bacon within six people? I can do that with myself (does that count?). Me --> My Uncle Glen (who was an extra in the movie the Doors and had lunch with) --> Val Kilmer (who was in True Romance with) --> Brad Pitt (who was in Sleepers with) --> KEVIN BACON. So I have a "Bacon number" of four (four degrees of separation). Haha.
I also studied briefly one summer with a Buddhist teacher who was a direct disciple of Thich Nhat Hanh (the Buddhist spiritual leader). Other than that no connections.
3.How often do you clean your house? It's an ongoing process really. We do the dishes nightly, as the week goes along. With five cats we're always scooping cat pans and running a vacuum cause their hair is everywhere. But the bigger cleanings happen on the weekends. Sweeping, wiping down counters, etc. The once a month or so we'll go crazy and do the DEEP cleaning.
4.What's your funniest/most embarrassing bathroom experience? It has to be your experience not your kiddos! (I saw this on another blog recently and loved it!) I feel like I'm failing at these questions. I don't have an embarrassing bathroom experience. Sure there are times when I needed to holler for toilet paper... but that's it. I think I might have been 8 or 9 when I walked in on a cousin of mine, but he was sitting down and it was just a split second so really whatever. Sorry folks.
5.Do you have an embarrassing intoxicated story? If so, what?! Again, not a whole lot of stories. Sorry. Although there was once in college when I got beyond drunk on homemade sangria... I was later told by a friend (who was snuggled on a couch with a cutie) that I sat down between them (cockblocking the action) and chatted them up. She was not happy with me but I don't remember any of it.
Other than that my best friend, that I lived with in Oakland, loves to remind me (and I do remember these instances) that when I get a little tipsy on wine I usually end up upside down on the couch (read: feet where your head goes and head where your feet goes).
6.What's your favorite book? Asking me to pick my favorite book is like asking a parent to pick their favorite child!! I can't and won't do it.
7.What's the craziest thing you've ever eaten? Oh gosh. Durian or Smoked razor clams? It's hard to pick.
8.How honestly do you care about the news and world events? I do. But sometimes it's hard to "keep up" only because it is so depressing. It's important to know what is happening in the world but for my own sanity and out-look-on-life I have to keep some distance.
9.What's your secret meal when you have the house to yourself? Now if I told you it wouldn't be a secret anymore would it? Haha. Okay... as long as it's just between us. Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich. There's just something comforting and innocent about it. LOVE pb&js.
10.Who hates you? (I've asked a lot of people this question and there is always some random kid from grade school that people are convinced hate them.) Nope. Not that I know of. I'm not saying "everyone loves me" but if there's someone out there who HATES me I don't know it.
11.If all fear was dissolved, what would be the biggest change you'd make in your life? Probably pack up my belongings, and kitties, and move somewhere abroad. Travel and explore beyond the USA. Maybe for a year. Maybe for a few years. Just get some adventure stories under my belt.
