Recently the fiance and I had a conversation around Bucket Lists and thins we've always wanted to do; he grew up in this area and it's amazing the number of experiences or places he's never been. Suppose it's easy to turn an eye to the things around you when you're face to face with them for your entire life.
One of the festivals I've wanted to attend since I moved to the PNW, is the Tulip Festival in Woodburn, OR. Tulips are one of (if not my) favorite flowers! So the idea of fields after fields after fields of them sounded like a trip to Oz!
So one May 5th in the afternoon (the last Saturday of the Festival actually) we packed up our car and headed south to Woodburn. There were vendors and artists, tractor rides, miles of flower and fun photo ops throughout.
I normally would have said it was a hot day...but we're in the middle of a 90+ week right now so that low day in the 80s feels like nothing.... It was a great way to spend the afternoon, earlier in the day we toured a wedding venue location and (unknowingly) had Mexican food on Cinco de Mayo before finishing up with a tip-toe-through-the-tulips!
